The Government of Malta introduced Malta Citizenship by Naturalisation for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment policy and started accepting applicants in 2020. This initiative was taken after the Maltese Citizenship by Investment Program was closed the year before.
It is required for applicants of this program to fulfil the essential eligibility criteria of being over 18 years old, in good health and without a criminal record. Apart from that, to apply to this program, you must proceed with a contribution of at least EUR 600,000 and the purchase of a residential property of at least EUR 700,000, which must be held for five years. An alternative to the Real Estate purchase is the lease of a residential property with a rental value of at least EUR 16,000 per year. A donation of at least EUR 10,000 is also required. This can be done to a sport, cultural, scientific, philanthropic, animal welfare, or artistic non-governmental organization in Malta.
Malta is located in the heart of the Mediterranean and has a long, illustrious history. It features numerous historical sights related to its many rulers, including the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Moors, Normans, and French and British Empires. The country gained independence in 1964, after 160 years of British rule.
Securing a Malta passport and dual citizenship will make it possible for future generations to enjoy greater political and economic freedom and better educational opportunities in the West.
